Bird Houses

Last Spring 2010, when we were living with my parents, I found some cute birdhouses for the girls to paint.  We made a fun day of painting the little houses in the backyard.  Nyah painted one and Sade painted the other and when they were done, we hung them in our favorite climbing tree.

This March when we came to California for Kayla's wedding, we were so happy to see our little birdhouses in all their weathered glory, still hanging in our tree.  I couldn't resist snapping some pictures. They looked so pretty with their brightly painted colors against the lush spring backdrop.

Cali-Boo Turns Two!

March was a month of being on-the-go for our family.  Starting with Cali's birthday on March 3rd.  Cali turned 2 and was SO excited.  She told everyone "it's my birthday I got balloons!"  

The day of Cali's birthday was also day 2 of our house getting it's new interior paint job (see ladder, paint swatches, etc. in the background) luckily Cali didn't care, she had her balloons.  Brit also took the day off of work to party with Cali and I. That made it an extra great day!

Cali received a slide and a few smaller gifts, but I think the balloons were her favorite part...

...oh and the ice cream cake was pretty good too.  I love that kids are so easy to please!
