Disneyland: 8-20-2007

These are pictures from way back last month :) of us on the Buzz Light Year ride at Disneyland. I thought that they were just too funny not to post. The picture with the cute midgets on Gordon and Cherryl's laps are actually Sade and Matix. Our camera was lost during this time so these are the only pictures we have from the trip, so here they are...

Kayla and Nyah
Jeremy and I (did you notice the score... I just think it is worth noticing)
Gordon, Cherryl, Matix, and Sade
Me, Sade, and Kayla. Ya, Sade was totally throwing off my game :)

September 4th, 2007

Nyah has started Preschool! On Nyah’s first day of school I was assigned to be one of the parent helpers. So to minimize the chaos for the following morning I packed lunches the night before and wrote out a list of reminders that I taped to the door.

All night I had dreams of being late to school so when I woke up I was more determined then ever to be on time.

Nyah noticed my determination and followed suit by making a list for her self of things for her to remember. Later she “read” it to me, it said:

Don’t forget your lunch,
Don’t forget your share toy,
Don’t forget your backpack,
Don’t forget “no picking your nose in front of the other kids”

Wow, proud parent moment :) See, these are some important lessons. It is so nice to know that my four year old will not be the kid in class picking her noes and eating it (yuck!!!)

With door locked we headed to the car with full arms anxious to get to my parents to drop off Sade. That is when I realized that I didn’t have my car keys. I grabbed the kids and ran to the managers apartment and banged on the door… no answer, I pulled out my cell phone and called his phone… no answer, I called the emergency number… disconnected number (shoot wrong number), tried again… Hello Aaron (manager!)…I spilled out the whole story in one breath…it is my daughter’s first day of preschool and I am supposed to help out and I just locked my keys in the house and I need you to unlock my door I am standing outside of your apartment right now…

Response- Ok, ok, umm, I live in a house.

Me- What, oh ok sorry I must have called the wrong number…third try… message machine…ahhhhhhh!

That is when I called my mom who raced out the door to come pick us up. We made it to Nyah’s class earlier than anyone and from then on the day was great. I made sure to take lots of pictures.

I didn't know it at the time but this is Nyah making her list of things to remember.

Locked out (Nyah showing off her list)

Heading into the unknown (outside of her new classroom)

Nyah with her class. Lacey (her best friend)is up front and to the right. Robby is the blond boy in the middle in the back, he is in her sunbeam class and is really nice. I told Nyah to try to learn a new kids name every day at school. Her first new friend was Max, the blond boy next to Lacey in this picture.

Snack time

Nyah eating the apple she reminded me a thousand times not to forget to put in her lunch. When she pulled it from her lunch box I could almost hear the hallelujah choirs in the background...At last!
Oh ya and that is really a mom in the background filming. The first day of preschool is crazy! Every parent is loaded up with cameras and video cameras. Class started about 15 minuets late because there were that many parents documenting their child's every movement. :) (as you can see I am guilty of the same offense)

Playing with new friends

For Nyah's first "show and tell" she brought in her puppy doll "Rosie". Next to Nyah is her Teacher, Ms. Tracy.
Nyah LOVES preschool and has continued to learn a new child's name each class!

Ha ha ha! We were bored...
So we made toy boats!

Flower Girls

Nyah and Sade got to be flower girls in Jason and Elicia's wedding. I thought I'd post some of our pictures from the big day.

Flowers and juice, does it get any better than this?!

This image is a little dark but I think Nyah's body language says it all...wonderment!
