Driving in the car our conversation shifted as Nyah began to reminisce about Preschool. She talked about her old teacher, her friends, and all the fun field-trips her class went on. Concluding her memories Nyah longingly said, "I love those days. Those were the good old days"
It took almost all my will power not to laugh and I have to ask, is there an age limit for the "good old days"?

Sade has really taken her new job as big sister seriously. While in the other room I overheard Sade telling Cali all sorts of useful things. Cali was in her swing and Sade had pulled up one of her own chairs to explain the rules of soccer and baseball. I ran to get my camera just in time to catch the lesson on freeze tag! Sade is just so cute with her little sister, she loves being the big sister and she simply adores Cali.

Introducing Cali Sanoe Risser
Hey everyone...
I know some of you have been dying to see pictures of our new addition, so here you go.
Kristy started having contractions about 9:30pm on Monday, 3/2/2009. We timed the contractions for a while, I cleaned up the apartment, Kristy took a shower and at about midnight we left our place to meet Kristy's parents in order to hand-off Nyah & Sade (Thanks Kevin and Nancee).
We arrived at the hospital around 12:30 am. It was pretty quite in the Labor & Delivery department when we got there, and I joked with the nurses and asked if it was always this quiet. They told me that it was especially odd because they didn't have a single patient. As Kristy was changing into her hospital gown, the nurses (who were very sweet) decided that because Kristy was already past her do date they would order some pitocin to help move things along. When the doctor arrived to check Kristy, he began to say that he wanted Kristy to walk around, but before he could finish the nurses told him that they had already order the pitocin and they we're going to enduce Kristy. It was interesting to see the nurses make the executive decision, but I guess they were pretty eager to have something to do.
The delivery was quick and easy, as it usually is for Kristy. I think it was only 3 or 4 pushes before Cali joined us. Cali was born at 9:21am and she was a healthy 6 lbs. 15 oz., and 19 inches long. She was smallest of our three girls.
Cali's big sisters are just as excited as Kristy and I for her to be here. They can't get enough of her. They're always asking to hold her (in their laps, of course) and Nyah & Sade are constantly giving us updates on every little movement that Cali makes. Even while Cali's sleeping.
For those of you who are wondering about the name. About 2 months ago, Kristy and I were stumped on names (mostly I vetoed every name Kristy came up with). One day, while visiting Kristy's parents, her brother Dallin jokingly said, "I know how to fix this". He pulled out a world atlas and decided to start in Baja, Mexico. We all laughed at the idea, but then Dallin read out the name Mexicali. We thought it was too funny, but Kristy said that she liked the name Cali, and she then suggested that Cali Sanoe would be a great name, and it stuck. As for the middle name, Sanoe. The name was taken from a professional womens surfer, Sanoe Lake. Kristy has liked the name since high school. I don't know what reminded her of the name or made her think about it, but I enjoy it.

Blue eys?!? It's hard to say now, but it looks like her eyes are a light enough color of blue that she may end up with blue eyes like Sade.
