"Ninja Pirates"

Ok, so this is a totally different subject than what I sat down at the computer to write about, but it is so funny I had to mention it. As I have been working at the computer Nyah and Sade have been playing "Ninja Pirates". The "traveling milk cart" just delivered to me a drink while I was busily typing. I was only half listening to Nyah when she placed the empty cup into my hand and I pretended to drink it. Now I was just informed that it was poison milk in my cup and I am now going to fall asleep for 100 years. I should also mention that this game comes with a very colorful collection of costumes put together by Nyah her self, including one very twisted backward hoodie that doubles, as Nyah puts it, as "a protector for my face ,so the bad guys don't sword my face".

A Day with Dad

Jeremy worked only a half day so we could go to Disneyland. The weather was perfect and the crowd was small! We meet up with my mom, dad, & Brittany which was a lot of fun. Even the Wallace family showed up later in the day!

We have never taken pictures with any of the characters simply because the lines are always too long. This time that wasn't the case, we caught Pluto right before the line formed and Nyah & Sade were very happy to finally get to meet him :)

So just in case you were not aware, Nyah is a thrill seeker (I love it!) and just in case you don't believe me, here is the proof. I think Jeremy was more week in the knees after Tower of Terror (admittedly, he doesn't like heights). Nyah loves to scream on rides, as you can see in the picture!

Taking a quick walking break.

Jeremy on a ride in Bug Land.
He was trying to get the girls excited by showing them how to put their hands in the air.

I Got Tagged

1. What I was doing 10 years ago: I was in my senior year of High School. I was dating Jeremy and since I used to be good at keeping a journal, I looked it up; in two weeks from today, ten years ago was the first time I told Jeremy that I loved him and I was worrying about what it would be like when Jeremy was away on his mission.

2. Five things on my to-do list today: Put clean laundry away, balance our checkbooks, get Easter things out of storage, go over my Sunday lesson, play Guitar Hero with Jeremy (he is better than me…for now).

3. What snacks I enjoy: I love black licorice, honey mustard & onion pretzels, any good chocolate & mint combination, Coco Krispies, Captain Crunch cereal, I could go on and on...

4. What I would do if I were suddenly a billionaire: (In order) We would pay off our loans, buy Jeremy a new car, purchase a home in a well developed area (not too fancy or too big, but one with a nice size yard), help out our parents in anyway, take a vacation (Manchester, England sounds nice), I would go back to school, set aside what we need for retirement for us & college for our children, then give the rest to cancer research.

5. Three bad habits I have:
-I hate doing laundry and can sometimes let clean cloths sit in the laundry basket long enough for us to wear them straight from the basket, never making it to a hanger or drawer.

-I pick at my nails when I am excited, nervous or just antsy (watching Lost takes a lot of self-control!)

-I have a hard time remembering places I need to be. For example, Nyah and Sade were supposed to go to dance class today, but I totally forgot about it till it was too late.

6. Five places I have lived: Saugus, Provo, and Castaic (sorry, only three places)

7. Some jobs I've had: I have worked at In-N-Out, and Mervyns. I worked as a short term temp. as a receptionist for Frontier Toyota, and UVDI (an air filtration company), among others. I was the receptionist at the Saturn dealership for a few months until I got a better job as the receptionist for Coherent Communications; a company that made transmitters and receivers for everything from the movie industry to spy devices for the FBI. There I eventually I moved from reception work to electrical work (soldering and wiring, VERY fun!)

8. Five thing people don't know about me: This one is easy there are lots of things people don’t know about me (which I kind of like) here are some I'll share :)

-I am a very fast reader (& I love to read) I finish most books that I read within a day or two.

-I was almost kidnapped when I was just a baby. My mom left me in the car to run quickly inside a store to ask someone a question (not to shop). The whole front of the shop was windows and she only left me because I was asleep and she could see me the whole time from inside the store. The car window was down all the way because it was warm. My mom was watching me when two men in a beat-up car pulled into the parking lot and stopped behind our parked car. One man "with long hair and dirty cloths" quickly got out of his car and approached the window where I was sleeping. He tried to remove me from the car seat, My mom saw it all and ran out after him screaming. She came out so fast that he never got me out of the chair but that was the last time anyone was left in the car, even for the quickest errand.

-I am naturally daring (not sure if that is the right word). I probably won’t ever tell of all of my stories of the places I have snuck into, dares I have fulfilled, etc. , but I'll tell this one:
When I was 17 I ditched school and drove across town to Canyon High, where many of my friends went to school (including Jeremy, though we hadn’t met yet). I walked onto the Canyon High campus during the lunch hour and meet up with some of my friends (who were not expecting me). When the bell rang my friend Laurel was headed to her art class so I went with her. I didn’t have a desk so we pulled up a chair next to her desk and I hung out with her through roll call and the whole class. When the class ended I went home, it was fun :)

-I have been to many shows (mostly punk shows) and have been though plenty of mosh pits, but I have only been hurt in a mosh pit once. It was at my second Bad Religion show and I got pushed so hard into a metal railing (if you have been to the Venture Theater you know what I am talking about) that it bruised and actually cut my back in two places.

-I love to drive fast (but never with my kids in the car, of course). Once long ago :) I was driving my dad’s NSX home from Big Bear with Dallin in the car. It was one or two in the morning and the freeway was empty. A corvette wanted to race so I raced, I beat him going well over xxxmph (and that’s all I’ll say) oh, except that it was awesome.

Now I tag: my sister Brittany, Susanna Risser, Carline Risser, and anyone else who has escaped being tagged on this one so far :)

Following the Leader

We had Leila over the other day and the girls had so much fun playing together. Nyah has a CD of Disney songs on it and when the Peter Pan song came on, Leila took off marching. Nyah and Sade thought it was so much fun that we put the song on repeat and they played follow the leader for a good 15-20 minuets!
