Pictures from our Halloween Party (2006)

For those of you that don't know, every year a group of our friends get together for Halloween and every year Jeremy and I transform our apartment to fit some clever theme. This last year we chose a pirate theme for the party and because many of you didn't have the chance to see our house transform into a pirate ship I thought that this would be a great time to post some pictures! (Despite the fact that it is now January) So check them out!

Here you can see the mast in the background, our "cargo" (couch) as well as our shipment of gold (good pirates always have lots of gold!)

This is our place in the day time. It is missing all the mood that you get at night, but you can get a better idea of what we did. We made the "stained glass window" in the background with cardboard and tissue paper.

This is the "Captains' Quarters", we painted cardboard folded to look like beams, dressed up our chandelier, hung some silky drapes and hid a fan in the kitchen to blow the drapes for a spooky effect. Oh, we also had creaking boat sound effects playing during the party!


Lastly is our pinata, which I just had to show because it is just so cute!

NEWS:

Jeremy will be having arthroscopic surgery on his knee soon.
The doctor suspects Jeremy's active life style is to blame. So there is a down side to soccer after all! (Just Kidding Jeremy)
We don't have a surgery date yet so we will keep you posted.

It is official Nyah has her first crush. Nyah has informed Jeremy and I that she is going to marry Tyrone (as in the orange moose from her favorite cartoon, The Backyardigans) but as she says they both have to "get a little older first."

I love this picture of Nyah. She is holding a doll given too her by her favorite nursery school teacher. Now Nyah is in Sunbeams at church which she loves because it is a "big kid" class.

I am so excited; Sade is learning all sorts of new words all of a sudden! Just this last week or so Sade has learned how to say; "apple, cracker, cheese (do you see a pattern here?), juice (which can mean any drink), cold & please".
