Little Surfer Girls

Jeremy has been dreaming of the day he gets to teach the girls to surf and after all his waiting the day finally came! Jeremy took Nyah out first. She doesn't know how to swim well yet and especially not in the ocean so she got to wear a cute pink life vest.

Nyah was amazing! She was excited to try and did really well. On her first attempt she just rode the board all the way in on her stomach.

On her second try she got to her knees on her own and never fell, it was a great ride all the way to the shore!

Then Jeremy stood her up to see how well she could balance. You can see the wave coming up behind her in this picture. She actually caught it and stayed up for a little while! Nyah LOVED it!

Sade watched Nyah surf and was sooooo ready for her turn when Nyah was done.
She even got in a little practice before she went out.

I love this picture!

The water was cold and we didn't have wet suits for the kids so this is Sade getting used to the water :)

Going out with dad!

Sade did really well too. She never tried to stand, but she did stay on the board every time and if you are wondering what she thought of all of this just enlarge the picture and check out her face... she LOVED it!

Jeremy wanted to see if Sade would stand too but this is as far as he got. Out of the water she was too cold and fell quickly.
I was impressed that they were so willing to try to surf and even more excited at how well they did; but the best part is that our little surfer girls are excited to do it again!

More from the Beach House

Every day we stacked rocks and watched as the tide came in and knocked them down

Some of our "rock stacks" pre-high tide

Ocean view from the deck

The Wallace's came and spent a day with us on Leila's birthday,
Sade was VERY excited to play with Leila!

More fishing! One of the neighbors caught a leopard shark, the kids loved petting it (it feels like sand paper) Leila even went a step further and gave it a kiss!

So, Jeremy was determined to catch SOMETHING... and he did! He snagged a small crab.

This is a sand shark. It was very soft and looks like "Mr. Ray" in Finding Nemo; so of course he was a favorite!

Hey look at that!

More lessons in Marine Biology: did you know that Perch give live birth (vs. eggs) Ya, we got to witness it live. When one of the men caught a very pregnant mom Perch, a tiny baby perch popped out! One of the men grabbed it up and put it in a bucket of sea water so the kids could see it. The baby fish was really cute, the girls loved it!

Such a beautiful day!

Fishing at the Beach House

During our stay at the beach house we met some of the neighbors who, were fishing next door. They were so friendly and offered to let the girls reel in their catch. C
This is what Nyah caught :) she was so excited!
BTW: don't you think that the red wine and fish gutting knife give the picture that extra something :)
...I just noticed them

Cute Sade!

The girls had a great time looking for fish.

Sade, Jeremy, and Mo (one of the nice neighbors & owner of the red wine and fish knife), Sade was sooo excited to help reel in a fish. Her turn brought up a perch as well.

Jeremy was having a lot of fun fishing and not about to come in even though the sun was going down.

This picture is just so peaceful.

Sunset.

See Jeremy. See Jeremy Surf...

This is right out the back of the beach house. It was the best spot for surfing. On the Saturday that we left ,we counted 36 surfers out.

Jeremy in a supper rad summer suit, waiting for the next set :)

Jeremy had so much fun, he went out everyday.

Oh, it is soooo hot! Just kidding, I was just having so fun with our camera!

Coming in... awww he is so cute in that 80' suit :)

A Little Short on Time

Ok, so I have totally been ignoring our blog, but to be fair I have been really busy. I have started up a fun little project that has taken up my blogging and blog browsing time.

Also we went to the beach all last week at one of the beach houses belonging to Susanna's family. Cherryl and Kyle were there all week as well as our Family. Gordon drove out for a few days and the Wallace family spent most of Friday with us too, it was so much fun!

Jeremy didn't have work off so he commuted from the beach house to work all week, only adding 15 or so extra minuets to his normal drive time. Jeremy had last week off of school giving him more time than normal to spend with us...and the ocean:)

I took lots of pictures, so as soon as I resize some of them I'll post those.
